Why internet connections in Germany are so bad | DW Analysis
Maybe the whole thing is just a big misunderstanding.
The “right to fast internet” is not at all in Germany and that is not planned either.
Specifically, it is currently not about gigabit or fiber optic, but about the telecommunications minimum pension regulations and because we are on abbreviations in this country, we lovingly call them TKMV.
The TKMV is intended to ensure that the right to basic services with telecommunications services, which has been laid down in the amended Telecommunications Act since December 1, 2021 , has been implemented in practice.

This is basically a good thing, but Germany does not go ahead here, but only implements European guidelines.
